So I'm on my way to BK after being in the studio with the kids from my internship all day... I hop on the 2 train and I randomly meet up with Ra and his brother... so that's like an only in New York moment in itself...

...but we on the train, and this man walks on and starts playing his guitar, and singing about people standing next to him, real funny too... so that's an only in New York moment as well...

... but THEN a man standing next to us, out of nowhere just starts talking and he's like "I'm really sorry to do this, but can ya spare 5 or 10 cents" and he's like buggin out, kinda has that crackhead bop going on... and that's the real OD only in New York moment...

...sidenote... the dude playing the guitar, when he's asking for money he says "I take donations, I have 3 kids at home and they all need iPods"... lmao

Current Stimulation

So right now I'm at a studio in the Bronx, working with the kids as part of my internship... I am so certain that this internship is gonna be crazy, but in a really good way... we've been here for a hot minute working on this song and it is fire!

These kids are talking about some real positive stuff and they are type nice too... I hope this is a sign of things to come for the summer...

Oh and by the way... I dropped a quick 8 bars on the track, and I merked it of course lol...

The Start Of A Beautiful Union...

Ight, so about my exciting day I told ya about...

Today was my first day working with this organization called the Social Services of Hip Hop as an intern... I am soooo excited about working with this org and helping grow its brand... everything that they are working on just seems so interesting and I'm looking forward to getting into it all...

I met with Jineea Butler, who is running the org, at her apartment in Harlem and I also met another intern... we basically spent 5 hours talking about the program, Jineea was schooling us about what she was working on, we told her about where we were coming from and what we wanted to do, we talked about the NBA Finals lol, we talked about some upcoming events, and I really can not wait to get started and learn more about SSHipHop... working on this is probably closest to what I envisioned myself doing as a career than anything else I have done, so I am very very ready to get it crackin lol...

...my first assignment is to critique the website, ya can help if you want to... this is the website=> ss-hiphop.com... let me know what you think...

this next week is going to be a nice ease into seeing what the org does... thursday we are going to a school in the Bronx to see one of the programs, Friday we are going to a recording studio, Sunday we are going to a performance space to see the space and sit in on a rehearsal, and then next week Thursday we will be working at the performance... if the performance is open to everyone I will post more info about it here...

... GRIND SEASON IS STILL OPEN... THIS SUMMER IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING...
